These houses with a steep rafter roof are well adapted to the extremely heavy snows and other natural features of this region, the gasshozukuri farm house has a unique structure based on interconnected triangles and is immediately recognizable from its enormous thatched roof











I don't know what it roof is made from exactly but it's like bunch of straws...
